Information we receive
When you contact VORA, we may receive your name, contact detail, district, enquiry category, message and consent. If you send an urgent navigation request, we may receive the emergency type, location or landmark, callback number, optional accessibility note and precise device location only when you choose to share it. Basic hosting/security logs may also be created to keep the service secure.
If you join the Disability Empowerment Network (DEN), we may receive membership information such as name, age group, sex/preference, district of origin and current district, current life stage, institution where applicable, broad disability/access category, accessibility needs, support interests, contact preferences and—where a child or dependent member is registered—the parent/guardian/caregiver contact and relationship. DEN generates a permanent membership number. Profiles are private by default.
Do not submit medical records, full identity documents, financial details, passwords, photographs intended to prove a disability or confidential protection case files through the public form. DEN may accept an optional ordinary profile photograph with explicit consent; it is private by default and stored separately from public website media.
How we use it
We use enquiry and urgent-request information to respond, route the question, correct records and protect the service. DEN membership information is used to manage membership, connect members to relevant education, career, livelihood, leadership, network and opportunity pathways, understand aggregate coverage gaps and organise programmes. VORA also records privacy-respecting search demand, result counts and referral actions such as call, email, WhatsApp or directions clicks so we can identify service gaps and improve coverage.
VORA application analytics use an anonymous session-derived visitor key and do not intentionally store a raw IP address in the search or referral-intelligence tables. Search text is filtered for obvious phone numbers and email addresses before demand analysis. We do not sell personal information.
Access and sharing
Access is limited to authorised VORA/CYEI personnel who need the information for their role. DEN member profiles are not public directories. We may share the minimum necessary information with a mentor, programme, institution, service provider or other relevant partner only where there is an appropriate consent, lawful basis or safeguarding reason.
Retention and your choices
We retain information only as long as needed for the stated purpose, accountability and applicable obligations, then securely delete or anonymise it. A DEN membership number is designed as a lifelong identifier, while the underlying profile should be updated when life stage, district, institution or contact details change. Search/referral analytics are designed for limited retention and aggregated service-gap reporting rather than personal profiling. You may ask to access, correct, pause or delete personal information by contacting advocacy@cyei.org, subject to lawful limits and any records that must be retained for accountability.
